There are no backdoors or recovery portals by design. We recommend writing your master password on a physical recovery sheet and storing it in a secure location.
Your encrypted database lives on your local disk. Use the built-in Export utility regularly to create backup files you can restore anytime on any machine.

Yes. AES-256 is an established symmetric block cipher widely used in enterprise security, financial services, and government systems. With standard implementations, brute-force attacks against properly generated 256-bit keys are computationally infeasible.

Yes. In the Free Forever version you can encrypt files up to 100 MB per file inside your vault. With Lifetime Pro, there is no file size limit at all (unlimited file size).
